Jonathan Peck - Strategic Lead
My background is rooted in education and in Cornwall. Most of my 28 years of teaching has been spent here apart from my first role which was in New Zealand. My Bachelors of Education degree was in Physical Education and is still a passion of mine but I have led in areas such as English, Computing, Initial Teacher Training, Assessment and the Curriculum. In the last twelve years, I have been involved in a variety of Senior Leadership roles including Headteacher of a large maintained school during its conversion into a MAT. I currently sit on many forums, committees and chair network groups to raise the outcomes and provision for the young people of Cornwall.
In all my years of education, I have never known a period of time where things have been easy and when leaders and schools did not have to find solutions. This is where the importance of collaborative work between local communities and CAPH can be a vehicle for innovation. I believe, as ever, the future of education in Cornwall is bright and is in safe hands. I am very much looking forward to being part of that onward journey with you all.
Crucial to being effective in your role is to take care of yourself and enable time for the things that make you happy. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, surfing, walking my dog Bertie and being in the outdoors.
