The Inspection of provision for pupils with SEND

 
Sarah McGinnis, HMI 
 
The interpretation and practical implementation of the SEND/AP improvement plan, this session will:
  • explore the recently published DfE SEND and AP improvement plan and consider the practical implications for our teachers and leaders, focusing on how we can work together to build knowledge and develop effective local SEND partnerships between specialist and mainstream schools and colleges.  
  • discuss how we can identify expertise that can be shared across settings
  • discuss the implementation of changes that will impact positively on provision for pupils with SEND provision in our settings
Ruth Zimmermann from the Special Partnership Trust
Ruth is the SEN Director for The Special Partnership Trust – a Trust consisting of 6 Special Schools meeting a wide range of Special Educational Needs.   Ruth has been working in Special Education for the past 30 years and is passionate about the importance of high quality, exciting and innovative provision for children with Special Educational Needs.  
 
Ellie Baker - Educational Consultant and Psychotherapist, 
Ellie has over 30 years' experience of work in mental health and well-being, education, therapy, consultancy, supervisory practice, social care and socially engaged community arts projects and is a national and international speaker. 
 
Joe McGovern - Cornwall Education Learning Trust - SEND lead
Joe is the Trust Lead SENDCo at Cornwall Education Learning Trust a post he has held for 4 years. He works within the CELT school improvement team and leads on SEND strategy and provision across 5 secondary, 2 Post Sixth form and 11 primary schools. Joe previously spent 5 years as the SENDCo at Bodmin College.
